Mentoring for upper-secondary students 2026
Hi there, upper-secondary student!
Wondering about something related to the matriculation exams or starting university studies?
Aalto University’s Industrial Engineering and Management guild, Prodeko, offers you a unique opportunity to talk with a student in a technical field about studying and your future.
If Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto, or Prodeko, are not yet familiar to you, take a look at our prospective-student pages or prodeko.org.
Mentoring is a great way to talk things through and get tips on, for example, further studies, finding your professional identity and recognising your strengths. You get a contact in the world of higher education, which eases the transition into a new stage of life and helps you with practical things such as the matriculation exams or study techniques.
The idea of the programme is to get to know your mentor and talk with them about your studies and future in a relaxed atmosphere. You get to ask the questions on your mind and broaden your view of the future. Mentoring costs you nothing!
Who is Prodeko’s mentoring for?
- You are in your final year of upper-secondary school
- Your goal is to continue to higher education after upper-secondary school
- You are interested in natural sciences and/or technical-economic fields (e.g. industrial engineering and management, business, mathematics, physics, chemistry)
- You take your studies seriously
- You want to learn and talk about different topics related to studying, and to share your thoughts about your future plans
Prodeko’s mentoring includes about four meetings with your mentor, either in person or remotely depending on your situation. The meetings are spread across the whole final year, starting in September. There are a limited number of mentoring places, so we hope you will apply! Selections are made based on applicants’ answers and motivation.
Please send your application by 14 September at the latest, through the link below. Selections will be announced by 21 September at the latest, by email.
If you have any questions about the mentoring programme, you can email the programme’s coordinator, arttu.seppanen@aalto.fi.
